Living for the smile of my Prince

"I think there is a difference between happiness and joy.
Happi-ness is caused by things which
happen around me, and circumstances will mar it, but joy overflows right through trouble; joy flows through the dark; joy flows in the night as well as in the day; joy flows all through persecution and opposition; it is an unceasing fountain bubbling up in the heart; a secret spring which the world can't see and doesn't know anything about. The LORD gives His people perpetual joy when they walk in obedience to Him."
by Dwight L. Moody

The Power of PrayerI have not been praying the way i should. That was what God spoke to me today through another one of the audio teachings. I admit that my prayer life has not been one of power. My prayers were always filled with phrases like "Lord , as you will, can you please grant me with this or grant me with that..." It lacked the power and the might of the prayers of the Apostles and it certainly lacked the authority that God has given me over the works of the evil one. God has given me--not just me but all Christians--the mighty and amazing power of prayer, yet the majority of us do not use it. Our prayers--sad to say--are wimpish. The devil doesn't tremble and mountains don't seem to be moving because we have failed to exercise this wonderful power that He has given us. We have to go beyond these 'wimpy prayers' that we are accustomed to, and start to boldly and specifically ask God for the BIG things. The impossible things. For that is what God wants. And it is prayers like these that increase our faith to believe and not only that, the devil and his demons tremble at such power that can only flow through that kind of powerful prayer. We need to pray aggressively. We need to wrestle with God through prayer like how Jacob wrestled with God. Our prayers have to be transformed and cultivated from defensive to offensive.
But what if the things that we ask for are not according to His will? How do we know whether the things that we want are according to what He wants? The answer is simple. Whatever things that are in the centre of His will are the very things that are in tune with His nature. Whatever things that are right to ask, are the things that are right to pray for.
It may seem weird and awkward at first, but after a while the presence of God will manifests itself so strongly that it will chase all awkwardness away. Our prayer life has to be cultivated and it is crucial for us to do so. Prayer grants us access to the strength of God
